“Lucky” Seven Meme

September 18th, 2006 by xformed

Gee…it’s a good thing I scan other blogs sometimes….(Note to tasking agency: Captain Steeljaw: Send tasking directly next time – it reduces the response cycle considerably!) Anyhow, Skippy-san of Far East Cynic nailed Steeljaw Scribe, and he informed me (via a note at the end of his answers). Here are the details:

Seven Songs

List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they’re not any good, but they must be songs you’re really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your LiveJournal/blog along with your seven songs. Then tag seven other people to see what they’re listening to.

1) 5 Candles – Jars of Clay

2) I Can Only Imagine – Mercy Me

3) Summer Song – Joe Satriani

4) Soundtrack from Crimson Tide

5) Tub Thumping – Chumbawamba

6) Pictures of a Matchstick Man – Status Quo

7) 3AM – Matchbox 20

Seven other victims? Who to bother…decisions, decisions:

I’m thinking Station Commando of Recruiting Tirade, Jack Army, Eagle1, Holly of Politics of a Patriot, Jason of Navy Says Hoorah1, Dadmanly, and (finally!) Andi of Andi’s World!

(Emails to follow later)

Disclaimer: While I have publically stated (about a year ago in the junior blog), I will never generate a meme, I have not said I would not pass them along!

Tubthumping? Those guys were far-left socialists, and the song is supposedly about social change. When I read that, it completely ruined the song for me. Moral of the story? Don’t read 😛

All the bands I listen to are the complete opposites of me politically.

Copy all, still learning blog-protocols…found out I’d been nailed the same way 🙂 And here I thought (and my poor sufering family) that I was the only one who (still) listened to Status Quo after lo these many years…

Jason: I hadn’t paid attention to that band’s politics (nor do I for most of them – they’re bands!), so thanks for the input.

SC: Even with a very short haircut in the mid-70’s, I still enjoyed CS&N and that type of music. I really didn’t completely fathom the depth of their messages for a while, but I still think they are good musicians.

Capt: Every moment, an opportunity to learn! Type your own white slip up for “failure to deliver the word” and give me 15 on the gallery…btw, I really enjoy your Friday Flight Deck posts.

From Jars of Clay to Status Quo… haha. You are diverse, Curt. 😛

Right now, the only thing I seem to be into is the “Sounds of Silence”…

of course raising 4 kids through their teenae years may have something to do with that…
