It’s Official: USS WISCONSIN (BB-64) Now a Museum

November 10th, 2007 by xformed

No, really.

Despite what it looked like, the USS WISCONSIN (BB-64) has been at the Naticus Maritime Museum in Downtown Norfolk since April 2001 as a tourist attraction, but maintained in case she’d have to return to the fight.

No more. She’s a remembrance now.

So “The Last Battleship” (subject to debate due to launching and commissioning sooner than the Mighty Mo & Mo remaining in commission 6 months later) truly was… how fitting. Great news, though, since she is still afloat and will be preserved.
